My artistic work explores the relationship between culture, identity and place.
I am fascinated by people - our actions and behaviours. The way we think about ourselves (both individually and collectively), our actions towards each other, how we behave in groups vs alone, and our impact on the environment.
The places we live shape our identity, our identities grow into culture, and culture dictates the way we shape our places. This complex cycle of activity has no beginning or end, and is forever mutating. My practice functions in the same way.
I work primarily through photography, but also with moving image, sound, and written word.
