Place Marketing, 2015 to 2019

My career began in place marketing. Working with clients including Visit York, Visit Britain, English Heritage, Merlin Attractions, and Creative Europe, I spent five years producing video campaigns that drove visitors to the north of England.

Community Engagement, 2016 to 2025

Alongside my place marketing work I founded a non-profit community for artists, designers and media producers in my hometown of York, UK.

Under my leadership the community grew to over 500 members, through the hosting of regular events, talks, and workshops. I have personally hosted over 200 community events, and led a team of fifteen volunteers to develop different aspects of the community.

In April 2025 I stepped back from the project and gave the team full control.

Creative Consultancy and Project Management, 2021 to Present

In 2021 I developed a Night Market concept for York, with the inaugural event drawing in over 2500 attendees. Two thirds of traders who took part reported it to be their most successful market ever, despite only lasting three hours.

Following this I was approached to develop a series of public events to celebrate York’s UNESCO City of Media Arts status, in collaboration with the Screen Industries Growth Network.

I have since developed projects and partnerships with a wide range of organisations including York University, York St John University, Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Patch Places, West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, and the York & North Yorkshire Combined Authority.

Other Projects and Interests

I own a co-working space called ACOLLECTIVE, located in a beautiful Victorian townhouse in the centre of York.

I run a small art book publishing company called OVERT Books.

Between leaving education and 2015 I was a touring musician, performing in venues and at festivals across the UK and Europe.
