York Filmmakers (2018 to 2023)

York Filmmakers (previously York Filmmakers Coalition) was formed in 2011 to bolster York’s independent filmmaking community, providing a forum for local writers, directors, cinematographers, vfx artists, editors, boom operators, and everyone in between to build their contacts. It became a place to find crew for upcoming films, and a place to seek constructive criticism from one’s peers.

By 2018 the original founders had left the group and there was nobody in charge. I offered to help kickstart the group back into action, and along with Chris Maudsley we arranged regular meet ups.

Between 2018 and 2023 we held 46 events, bringing in industry speakers, including:
