York Photographers (2024 - Present)

As the York Creatives community approached a decade of existence I noticed members asking for events that were tailored to specific disciplines. The York Filmmakers community had been operating for a long time, but there wasn’t an equivalent for photographers.

I started York Photographers in early 2024, organising monthly photo walks that were open to all abilities, and every third month we would also host a talk.

The community grew to 50 members in the first year, with community member Gianluca Barbazza stepping up to co-lead the community.

In 2025 Gianluca became the leader of York Photographers and took responsibility for hosting the programme of talks and events.
